As the provincial elections approach, Manitobans for the Arts is working to develop an arts and culture policy platform that truly represents the sector and its members. To achieve this, we need your input.

With an important Mayoral race in Winnipeg, Manitobans for the Arts invited all Mayoral candidates to respond to a survey, and to share their plans for the arts and culture sector.

Manitobans for the Arts welcomes Oyíndàmólá Áláká as its new General Manager

Manitobans for the Arts has compiled a list of programs at the Provincial and Federal level – some for organizations, some for individuals – to help weather the current storm.

Through consultation, we have identified priorities within the sector and are working alongside arts organizations and private- and public-sector partners to address them.

Probe Research surveyed Manitobans to identify opportunities to strengthen community engagement and participation in arts and culture.

The Culture Policy and Action Plan recognizes and celebrates the whole of Manitoba’s diverse cultural sector.  It acknowledges the sector’s contribution as an economic driver, and as a source of pride and belonging.

In the lead up to the 2018 Municipal Election, Manitobans for the Arts called on Mayoral and Councillor Candidates in Winnipeg to commit to implementing three strategies, to ensure their term will include arts, culture, heritage and creativity.

On March 21, 2017, representatives from the Manitobans for the Arts Board and Advocacy Committee were joined by leaders in the arts and cultural community in meetings with all City of Winnipeg Councillors.

Manitobans for the Arts coordinated a delegation made up of 27 members of the creative community to meet with 32 MLAs, Ministers and Deputy Ministers and discuss issues pertinent to arts and culture communities in Manitoba.
